Best Practices for Sellers
Seller Numbers
- Reserve your seller number in advance. This will make sure you have plenty of time to prepare.
- Record your seller number in a safe place so you do not forget what it is. Requesting your number via email is probably the safest way to reserve your number for this reason.
Bag Labels
- Print your labels using the Automated Auction Sheets. It makes them easier to read. Fill out the Automated Auction Sheets completely and in order. Accurate auction sheets make getting your payment easier and faster.
- While it is not necessary, it builds buyer confidence to fill out the auction tags completely. Include your name and phone number in case the buyer has any questions.
- Use common names on the auction tags. If it is hard for the auctioneer to read, it may get read wrong or it may slow up the auction process.
- We allow the sale of non-working items to be used for parts. Please label your items as WORKING or NONWORKING or NEEDS X PARTS. It will make the auction process go much smoother if the auctioneer can read it off of the label.
Preparing for the Auction
- Bag up and pack your items the night before the auction. This saves time in the morning.
- Arrive early. Registration begins at 9:00 am. If you show up after the auction starts, it slows down the auction process. You may also miss out on items you would like to bid on.
- Check in BEFORE you place your items on their tables. This will keep you from retrieving your items if there are any problems with the paperwork.
- Place your items on the tables that correspond to the LAST digit of the item number. For example, items that end in the digit 1 (1, 11, 21, 31) go on Table 1; items that end in the digit 9 (9, 19, 29, 39) go on Table 9. Items will be brought out in order, regardless of what table they are on. If you put them on the wrong table, it slows down the auction process.
